Skip the diets. Just. Eat. Healthy.

I say this all the time, but I feel like it needs to be repeated.
I see people on all kinds of silly diets – wasting money on books with diet plans, cult-like fanfare, and pseudoscience, when just plain healthy/clean eating would not only work, but will LAST.
Just because you know someone who it “worked” for doesn’t mean it will work for you, or that it will be good for you in the long term.
Just because they’re written by someone with a PHD next to their name doesn’t mean it’s good for you.

just eat healthy.I’ve seen so many books with unsubstantiated claims, and a lack of actual scientific evidence for long-term results or negative side effects.

A lot of these doctors haven’t even actually studied nutrition!
Some people will be very surprised to learn that cardiologists, and many(most, actually) other types of physicians, don’t learn much more than rudimentary nutrition(if that). That’s also assuming that the “doctor” who wrote your diet book isn’t a Doctor of Philosophy!
Many of these books do have at least a nugget of truth in them, but very few have solid, long-term evidence(despite their claims. Many say they have it… but have you asked to see it? They rely on you taking them at their word!).
Save your money, save your time, save your sanity, and save your health.
There is NO diet book or plan in the world that will do you more good than to learn and practice healthy, sane eating.

  1. Totally agree with you! Keep singing this tune…so many people think there is magic to weight loss. It’s simple mathematics and common sense. Save your money.
